SUMMER MADNESS AT THE MUSEUM

From Here To There
New Exhibit at Sloan Museum!  Trains, planes, boats, automobiles, and many other modes of transportation were designed over the ages to convey travelers ever more rapidly from point "A" to point "B." Lift, launch and levitate as you experiment with hands-on exhibits.

Buick Gallery Hop (age 8 - 12)
Enjoy a guided tour of the Buick Gallery and discover the ups and downs of early automobiling! Throw on early 1900’s driving outfit and get your picture taken in a vintage Buick, climb into the Hellcat Tank Destroyer and see what World War Two era military vehicles were like. Finally, you’ll enjoy a tasty treat at the 50’s era snack bar.
Cost: $4.50 per person.

Miniature History Hunt (age 4 - 12)
Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to grab a clue book and discover the history that awaits you among the Pierson Portrait Figures. After your mission is complete, you’ll hike over to the Halfway Café for an historically accurate snack!
Cost: $4.50 per person.

Work and Play of Yesterday (age 4 - 12)
Learn about and experience children’s chores from eras gone by, then try out the toys and games that kept your great-great grandparents smiling!
Cost: $3.50 per student, $4.00 per adult.


SUMMER STAR SHOWS
Beginning July 6

Solar System Safari - 12:30pm (ages 6 - 12)
Stretch the limits of exploration with Danger Dave, your space safari guide! Meet varied and funny characters — the planets — as you visit ten worlds from Neptune to Saturn, Jupiter to Mercury, and other objects in the Solar System along the way in this jungle themed space adventure.
Cost: $3.50 per student $4.00 per adult.

Destination Moon - 2pm (ages 10 - adult)
Lighting the night, ever changing, sacred to the ancient gods, mysterious. When did people first look up at the Moon and wonder? There is no way to know for certain, but humankind’s fascination with the Moon is very old indeed. “Destination Moon” takes us on a trip through our knowledge and understanding of Earth’s nearest neighbor in space.
Cost: $3.50 per student, $4.00 per adult.

*Morning shows are available upon request for groups of 20 or more. Call for reservations.


PLANETARIUM SUMMER FUN

Moon Mania (ages 4 - 7)
When you look up at the night sky, you can see the Moon, but why does it change shape? What would it be like to go there? Find out while exploring lots of moon-tastic activities!
Cost: $3.50 per student.

Galactic Goo (ages 4 - 12)
Chemistry at its finest and most fun! Matter, molecules and polymers will be investigated, while you make and take a bag of your very own goo.
Cost: $3.50 per student.

Marble Coasters (ages 8 - 12)
A Planetarium favorite! Design and build a marble run usingflexible pipe insulation, while exploring physics concepts including force, motion, kinetic and potential energy.
Cost: $3.50 per student.

The Planetarium Garden (ages 4 - 12)
Get outside and get growing! Kids will play, discover and learn with hands on life science activities offered outside* in the Planetarium Garden.
*Activities will be moved inside in the case of inclement weather.
Cost: $3.50 per student.

Group Rate Admission* - Children $3.50 or $4.50. $3 - $4 if participating in more than one. All adults are $4.00 for admission.
*Please note you must have 20 or more attending.

Reservations You must pre-register for all activities. Reservation can be made by calling 810.237.3409 weekdays from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
