Robots: The Interactive Exhibition

The wit, excitement and imagination of 20th Century Fox’s animated film Robots combine for a fun, educational experience that the whole family will enjoy in Robots: The Interactive Exhibition. The exhibition features more than 15 interactive areas offering scientific adventures that allow visitors to enter the world of robotics and explore the “reel and real” science of robotics. Based on the 20th Century Fox animated feature, Robots depicts a world populated entirely by mechanical beings, including genius inventor Rodney Copperbottom and his friends, the Rusties, who seek to make the world a better place through innovation and determination.

The amazing characters from 20th Century Fox movie Robots will introduce visitors to the wonderful, real world of robotics—an exciting and ever-expanding field of science. Robots are becoming more and more a part of our lives. Here visitors will learn how that is happening and how they might become part of the excitement.

Robot Explorers - Visitors will be given a choice of building a robotic probe to explore one of three environments: Underwater, Deep Space or the surface of Mars. To accomplish this, guests will select options on a touch-screen monitor for each of the key elements of their robotic explorer.

Crosstown Express - Families can climb aboard and take a spin inside a metal ball transporter around the wonders of Robot City. As they watch the three-dimensional screen ahead of them, their seats rattle, the wind blows and the sensation of twisting and turning around the wild track takes them into the world of reel and real robotic vehicles.

Build-A-Wonder-Bot - Visitors sit at workstations and around the base of the tables is a large-scale model of the Wonderbot from the Robots movie. On each table are small, partially completed robots, a bin full of additional parts and instructions. Guests will be able to complete a robot, allowing it to perform its function.

Hollywood Robots Hall of Fame - Visitors will view various images in a montage of robots from movies and television through the ages. Robby the Robot (Forbidden Planet) C 3P0 (Star Wars) and Gort (The Day the Earth Stood Still).

Industrial Robots - Guests will program an actual Ford robotic arm similar to the ones used in auto factories around the world. They will learn how robots are being used in a wide variety of functions and countries around the world. They will also discover the difficult ethical questions raised by more and more robots replacing humans in the workplace.

Robot Round Up - From toys to machines that clean our homes, robots are making a difference in our daily lives. In this fun-filled area, visitors will be able to control and handle many types of robots, some of which are currently available including the Roomba and the Robosapien. Using remotes, guests can put each of these products through their paces.

Future of Robots - Families can view companies and robotic machines that are shaping the future, including Leonardo from MIT and Stan Winston from ASIMO, along with the next generation of robots that will help to change our world.
