Holiday Walk

The Flint Cultural Center announces its 28th annual FREE Holiday Walk scheduled for Tuesday, December 6 from 5:15 to 8:30 p.m. The community is invited to enjoy the beautifully decorated 30 acre campus complete with holiday light displays and luminaries, ice sculptures, festive music, holiday theatre performances, seasonal craft demonstrations, holiday planetarium samplers, current exhibits, refreshments, and Santa Claus himself! Mayor Dayne Walling and Santa will light the tree at 5:15p.m. and then Santa will make his way to The Whiting for family visits and photo opportunities throughout the evening. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own cameras to take pictures with Santa, as well as holiday scenery and other special guests.

This is a FREE community event, however, we ask those who can to bring non-perishable food or personal care items to be donated to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. All buildings at the Flint Cultural Center will be accepting donations during the week of November 30 through December 6, 2011.

Holiday Walk is presented as a cooperative effort by Applewood Estate, the Flint Institute of Arts, Flint Community Schools, Flint Institute of Music, Flint Public Library, Flint Youth Theatre, Longway Planetarium, Sloan Museum, Sarvis Conference Center, The Whiting, and Whaley House Museum. Holiday Walk is sponsored by the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation with media partners abc12, Cars 108 and the Flint Journal.

The Flint Cultural Center campus is located along Kearsley Street off I-475 at Longway Boulevard in Flint. For more information, call 810.237.7333 or visit www.FlintCulturalCenter.org.
